Libération

I have photographed for the french newspaper Libération a few times. When they are doing a story in Iceland they usually call me and it's a lot of fun to work for them. Here are the stories I've worked on:

Story about the Committee of the Constitution Iceland, Mai 2011

Story about literature in Iceland, January 2012

When the presidential election were in Iceland 2012, Presidential candidate Þóra Arnórsdóttir.

Film from June 2011

I recently went with some films to development. Black and white film that I was going to develop myself but it's taking me a long time finishing my darkroom. They were taken in June 2011 when me and Gylfi went to visit his sisters to New Jersey and Philadelphia. I remember when I was taking the photos and the feeling I got when I saw them again was heartwarming.

We started our trip in Brooklyn visiting Gylfi's old friend and band mate. We watched Escape from New York and had some really good times.

I found Jesse Newkirk to be an excellent model.

The view from the rooftop wasn't bad either.

We went out to walk the dog and met these bulks on the way.

They had an instant connection.

As did Gylfi with his admiration of The Phillies baseball team.

We stayed with Gylfi's sister in Bristol, PA. She lives there with her late husbands mother-in-law and her 14 year old son. Here is Peggy with her great grandchild Evelyn.

We just bought tickets to go again over and spent Christmas with his sisters this year. I can't wait to go back and photograph some more.

December 2011 - The dark month

December has never been a favorite of mine. It get's very dark and that makes photographing outside more difficult. But I survived and now it's time to see what came out of this month in photos.

Vilhelm Anton a co-worker of mine made his desk junk into a piece of art.

Early December I went to London with ENNEMM. I have never been before and although we only stayed for 2 nights I really enjoyed the city.

On my walk from Brick Lane to Soho I came across construction workers taking a lunch.

Living in Reykjavik and having a view over Esja is great. It always tells you when winter comes and goes. I went down to the harbor where the ferry to Viðey goes and looked over the snow fallen mountain. There I saw these Russian ships tied to the harbor.

Later that month I went out to dinner with Gogoyoko. Christmas menu and a lot of smoked meet with red wine made the night wonderful. The room where our group stayed in had a reindeer head hanging on the wall.

The cat that lives next door. It snowed so much this month. It hasn't been so much snow in Reykjavik since 1984. Poor thing wanted to get in, but the door was locked.

And then came the new year with all the fireworks. Happy new year!

October 2011 - Bear with me, it's the first blog

October arrived with a storm. Reykjavik was full of tourists coming for Iceland Airwaves.
I got my first dish washing machine, what a breakthrough.
Filmed my friends during the weekends and worked a lot.

Gylfi was working on getting the washing machine to work. He left his hammer on the floor.

Hreinn playing foosball at the Gogoyoko offices. They had a championship game earlier that night. I think he won.

The old Billiard room at Skúlagata. It closed down many years ago. But the sign is still standing strong.

Elín Bríta moved to a new apartment she just bought and had a moving in party. The drawing in the left of the photo is a collaboration that we did drawing our faces with our eyes closed, drunk.

Sophie Magdalena playing around. I was taking photos of her & her family Anna Katrín & Allison Grace & Mia Celeste for a project I'm working on.

Party at Skólavörðustígur. All I remember is breaking my ring finger later that night while biking home, drunk.

Vésteinn had a good way of showing he was having a blast at an afterparty.
