Libération

I have photographed for the french newspaper Libération a few times. When they are doing a story in Iceland they usually call me and it's a lot of fun to work for them. Here are the stories I've worked on:

Story about the Committee of the Constitution Iceland, Mai 2011

Story about literature in Iceland, January 2012

When the presidential election were in Iceland 2012, Presidential candidate Þóra Arnórsdóttir.

Djúpalón - Snæfellsnes

This August I went to Ólafsvík. During the trip I also went to Djúpalón and other places around Snæfellsnes. The beauty in the landscape captured me right away. I love the details, texture and how complex and colorful they are. A lot of Icelandic nature photography is taken from air to show the magnificent forms that appear when you see everything in a bigger context. I feel the same way about the details that hide up close in our nature.

Exposure glory from Riga to Reykjavík

When I was in Riga I found an old Minolta camera that I bought to try out. After a few shots the camera broke down. I didn't want to ruin the film so I decided to re-use it. From that comes these series of photographs shot in Riga and Reykjavík.

Damono (Damo Suzuki's network & kimono)

In the evening of the 4th of October the most amazing music of the year was made in a shabby old pub downtown Reykjavík. It consisted of the legendary former singer of the krautrock band Can, Mr. Damo Suzuki along with two German guitarists and the band kimono.

Here they are, from the left: Alexander Schönert, Gylfi Blöndal, Dirk Kretz, Damo Suzuki, Kjartan Bragi Bjarnason, Alison MacNeil

The day of my brother's wedding

On August the 28th 2012 my brother got married to his beautiful baby's mama. My gift to them was agreeing to be a photographer at the wedding. That is something that I have not done before and never really had any interest in. But after seeing the photographs and the endless joy that day  I might reconsider doing another one some day.

All my love & happiness to them
